What's up in Lansing: "War of the Worlds" and more

Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this partly-cloudy Friday.

Today is the anniversary of the infamous "War of the Worlds" broadcast, which caused panic for some in 1938 when it was aired. Not all listeners caught the disclaimer that the report, a narration of an alien invasion, was fictitious.

Audio Air Force is recreating the broadcast today to celebrate. Ten actors will be playing over 25 roles, and providing live sound effects using props. To read more about the event, including input from the group's founder, check out this article by City Pulse's own Ty Forquer.
