Whether you enjoy video games, tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, comic books, Marvel movies or anime and manga, Capital City Comic Con offers chances to nerd out and meet other community members who share the same interests. There are also Fourth of July events, a Pride block party, drag and burlesque shows, a soccer match and plenty more to do this weekend.

 For Friday evening’s live music, we have Seth Austin at Harrison Roadhouse in East Lansing at 6; Darin Larner Jr. at One North Kitchen & Bar at 6:30; sKitz Kraven at Mac’s Bar, Lisa Smith and friends at Red Cedar Spirits in East Lansing and the Meridian Community Band at Lake Lansing Park South, all at 7; Elysia Marie at UrbanBeat at 7:30; Two-Faced Wilson at The Peanut Barrel at 8; and Pocket Vinyl and Mistic Mountian at The Avenue at 9. Saturday evening, we have The Drifter Kings at Lansing Brewing Co. at 7. Ending the weekend is Tony Thompson at Lansing Shuffle noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Take the stage yourself with karaoke at High Caliber Karting and Entertainment 7 to 11 p.m. Friday. There’s no cover charge, no drink minimum, and all ages are welcome.

If you haven’t had a chance to view “Blind Spot,” “DIGEST” or “Shouldn’t You Be Working? 100 Years of Working from Home” at the Broad Art Museum, it’s open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Capital City Comic Con runs 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lansing Center, featuring video game tournaments, a range of vendors and celebrity guests, workshops, panels, costume contests and much more. There’s also a tabletop gaming area at the Radisson Hotel, located across the Grand River from the Lansing Center at the corner of Grand and Michigan avenues, which is open 10 a.m. to midnight Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Lansing Shuffle is hosting Comic Con afterparties 8 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday for ages 21 and up, with food and drinks for purchase, DJ sets and booths from artists and vendors. Wesley and the Crushers, a “sci-fi geek” band, will play an album-release show Friday evening, and attendees can take part in a cash-prize costume contest and a cosplay photography contest Saturday evening.

Midtown Brewing Co. is also hosting pop culture trivia 8 p.m. Saturday as part of Comic Con’s after-hours programming, so gather a group of your most in-the-know friends for a chance to win prizes.

Lansing Liederkranz is holding a rummage and bake sale 9 a.m. to noon Friday at its event hall on South Pennsylvania Avenue. Stop by to score some sweet deals and even sweeter treats.

Lansing Common Football Club will take on Thundercats Soccer Club 7 p.m. Friday at Eastern Stadium. Come hungry because Strange Matter Coffee, Stacks Barbecue and La India Mexicana Cocina will be selling food and drinks.

Pick up trash along the Lansing River Trail with Keys to Manifestation 11 a.m. Saturday. Gloves, trash bags and hand sanitizer will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own or extras to donate.

It’s the end of Pride Month, and Tease A Gogo and House of Manifestation are teaming up to host their 2ndannual Pride block party 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday on South Street in REO Town. There will be kids’ activities, live music and performances, artist and vendor booths and food and drinks for purchase. Attendees 18 and older can stay for a House of Manifestation drag show at 6:30 p.m. and a Tease A Gogo burlesque show at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for both shows are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Gear up for the Fourth of July with a patriotic mug-making workshop 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lansing Makers Network. Learn how to weed, align and place a Fourth of July-themed vinyl decal on a Mason jar mug. Makers Network memberships aren’t required, but there is a $20 class fee.

Eaton Rapids kicks off its Fourth of July celebration Saturday with a pancake breakfast 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Eaton Rapids, a Downtown Chalk Fest 5 to 7 p.m. on Main Street, live music with Sea Cruisers 7 to 9 p.m. at Grand Army of the Republic Island Park and a Civil War artillery-firing demonstration 10 p.m. at Howe Memorial Park. Additionally, the Grand Army of the Republic Museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and the museum’s replica Civil War encampment is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Howe Memorial Park.
