TUESDAY, May 30 — The Great Lakes Folk Festival released its 2017 music and dance lineup earlier today. Acts performing at the East Lansing festival range from Lansing’s own Heartland Klezmorim to Connla, a Celtic group from Northern Ireland.
This year’s festival, which runs August 11 through 13, also includes the Michigan Heritage Awards and the first-ever Queer Traditions Summit, which will “explore queer folklife: the everyday culture, aesthetic expressions, and traditional arts of LGBTQIAkknd people in Michigan, nationally, and internationally.”
