Property: Lansing skyline
Owner: Multiple
Assessed: Varies
Like an individual snowflake, every skyline is unique. Big or small. Short or tall. With a single glimpse you can see where a city has been, where it is now and from the arrangement of construction cranes gracing the view, where it will be — a visual record of the past, present and future.
Skylines, like Lansing’s, are composed of more diverse building types than perhaps anytime in history. Late 19th century skyscrapers mingle with mid-century modern civic buildings and post-modern office buildings in an eclectic mix that has come to define early 21st century urbanism.
Wherever you go to enjoy your favorite view of Lansing, whether it be from a top a parking structure, driving I-496 headed west or another equally satisfying vantage point appreciate it for what it is, unique.
“Eye candy of the Week” is our weekly look at some of the nicer properties in Lansing. It rotates each with Eyesore of the Week. If you have a suggestion, please e-mail eye@ lansingcitypulse.com or call Nyssa Rabinowitz at 999-5064.
