Third recreational pot shop opens in Lansing

Stateside Wellness expands beyond medical marijuana

Posted

WEDNESDAY, March 11 — The recreational marijuana industry is continuing to plant its roots in the capital city as Lansing’s third recreational marijuana dispensary opened its doors for adult-use sales earlier this morning.

Stateside Wellness, 1900 E. Kalamazoo St., is now open as an adult-use retailer. The dispensary, which had already served as a medical provisioning center, is the third in the city to be recreationally licensed by the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs since city officials also began approving licenses last month.

The shop was stocked with plenty of flower, pre-rolled joints, edibles, cartridges and live resin earlier today.

“Stateside has been providing quality medicinal cannabis to the Eastside neighborhood and East Lansing for years,” owner Sam Usman Jr. said in a recent press release  “As one of the longest-running provisioning centers in the city, it was important to us to be one of the first to extend our high-quality product to adult users.”

Stateside is open every day. Business hours are 11 am. to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow, but will be extended to 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. beginning on Friday. Both cash and debit cards can be used to purchase marijuana products.

“Being located on the border of Lansing and East Lansing makes us a convenient stop for residents of both cities, as well as MSU students and faculty,” Usman added. “We are thrilled to continue to provide this vast assortment of cannabis products to medical and new adult users.”

PG Group Manufacturing owns Stateside Wellness, as well as Old 27 Wellness on North East Street and Pure Options on South Pennsylvania Avenue. Pure Options and HomeGrown Provisioning Center on South Pennsylvania Avenue were the first two recreational dispensaries to open in Lansing after they were licensed late last month.

Pure Options will also extend its business hours to 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. beginning on Friday.
