WEDNESDAY, Jan. 20 — The Avenue Café, one of Lansing’s favorite east side neighborhood haunts that functions as a bar, concert venue and ramen restaurant, is shutting its doors until March. In the meantime, owner Colleen Kelley has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help keep The Avenue in business.

“It's with heavy hearts we will be temporarily closed until March. We look forward to serving tasty cocktails and delicious ramen while providing a safe place to gather once again, in the near future,” Kelley posted on GoFundMe. “We are hoping to raise funds to cover our expenses while we wait on relief for the loss of revenue sustained in the last year. Thank you from all of us at The Avenue.”

The GoFundMe page also announced that The Avenue plans to host a number of livestream concerts on its social media pages. So far, The Avenue has raised $4,275 of its $25,420 goal.
