Soldan's hosts frozen yogurt eating contest for dogs

THURSDAY, Aug. 15 — Hounds, mutts and purebreds of all shapes and sizes will chow down on a frozen yogurt cup for the fourth annual Dog Fro-Yo Eating Contest at Soldan's Pet Supplies.

Competitors will be sectioned out by weight class before getting a chance to try and eat a cup of frozen yogurt the fastest. The first dog to finish in its weight class wins. Soldan's asks all attending dogs to be leashed and up to date on their vaccinations before competing.

Prizes for first place are a basket full of dog goodies and a $20 Soldan’s gift card. Second place receives a $10 gift card and gourmet dog cookie.

Aside from the winning title in each weight class, dogs will be judged for Best Dressed, Best Fro-Yo Face and Better Luck Next Year awards. These awards include a $5 gift card and a free bag of NutriSource dog treats. All of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Capital Area Humane Society.
