THURSDAY, Aug. 8 — Horrocks is celebrating the summer right by inviting the community out for free food, live music, chalk art and a chance to dunk the owners with a dunk machine. The event will be the first of its kind, taking place near the Horrocks pond and vegetable greenhouse.
“We just wanted to do a big appreciation for our customer base and community. We like to go all out when we do things, and we’re hoping it appeals to everyone in the family,” Horrocks co-owner Autumn Horrocks said. The greenhouse will be decorated in full luau theme and attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite luau shirt, she added.
Free food includes summer classics like a pig roast, corn on the cob and coleslaw. A beer and wine truck will have beverages for purchase. The big band Hark Up of Grand Rapids will perform throughout the event.
