Okemos Music Academy expands online lessons

Posted

MONDAY, APRIL 6 — Okemos Music Academy announced in a press release that it’s hosting free online classes and lessons for students under the branding Cabin Fever Busters.

“During this very difficult time, many music schools have stopped offering music lessons. Guitar Center suspended its music lesson program nationwide,” John Dewey, Okemos Music Academy owner and director, said in the release. “Okemos Music Academy wanted to offer more to its students, so it launched an online music program with free classes.”

Any student taking weekly online lessons with the school will now receive access to the Cabin Fever Buster group, which includes daily programming and instruction for a wide variety of instruments, genres and styles.

“This is a great way for students to break cabin fever, try new instruments and expand their music abilities,” Dewey said in the release. “It also gives parents back much-needed time, as they have to adjust with having a house full of children who are ready to have their energy channeled in a positive and educational way.”
