THURSDAY, Aug. 15 — Impression 5 Science Center’s new exhibit puts nuclear science in the spotlight.

“SMASH: A Nuclear Adventure” opens Friday, and highlights the sheer magnitude of expertise and research at Michigan State University’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams.

According to Impression 5’s website, the exhibit “explores atoms and their journeys of acceleration, collision, separation, and detection in simulated environments that illustrate the research happening now at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) and in the future at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University.”

“SMASH” also incorporates “Isotopolis,” a video game developed by MSU which explores “the process of discovering rare isotopes.” You can learn more about “Isotopolis” and download it here.
