MSU hosts MFA Exhibition Talks online

Posted

WEDNESDAY, April 15 — To remain safe amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, the Michigan State University Department of Art, Art History and Design has decided to hold this year’s MFA exhibition talks over the video chat service, Zoom.

The event — featuring talks from MSU students Hector Acuna, Rebecca Casement, Marcos Serafim, and Emily Somoskey — was originally supposed to be held in the Broad Art Museum. But the pandemic has forced them to go virtual.

In lieu of an in-person exhibition, the museum has set up a digital version of its gallery complete with artists’ statements and high-definition pictures of the students’ artwork. Guest juror Courtenay Finn, Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, will award the annual Master of Fine Arts Prize to one lucky student.
