Jazz Alliance of Mid-Michigan announces grants for jazz musicians

Posted

THURSDAY, April 2 — Jazz Alliance of Mid-Michigan, or JAMM, announced via a press release its plan to send eight $200 grants to Mid-Michigan jazz musicians:

“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

GRANT DONATIONS KEEP POURING IN!

BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS,

JAMM HAS DISTRIBUTED FIVE $200 GRANTS TO PROFESSIONAL MID-MICHIGAN JAZZ MUSICIANS.

JAMM NOW HAS EIGHT $200 GRANTS AVAILABLE.

It looks like these times of social distancing & venue closings are going to last longer than was initially thought. Live public space gathering of jazz musicians and their jazz-loving fans still remains impossible with an unclear timeline for resuming. Our beloved jazz musicians are suffering. JAMM is committed to its mission "to preserve and promote the tradition of Live Jazz across Mid-Michigan". Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Jazz Alliance of Mid-Michigan will continue indefinitely to raise funds and distribute $200 individual grants to Professional Mid-Michigan Jazz Musicians who are struggling financially because of cancelled gigs. These grants do not have to be repaid and any Professional Mid-Michigan Jazz Musician may apply.

***WE CONTINUE TO NEED YOUR DONATIONS***
