Ingham Co. commissioners hire new controller/administrator

Maryland state executive with county experience takes post

FRIDAY, June 26 — The Ingham County Board of Commissioners has hired a state health department executive from Maryland to be its next controller/administrator.

Gregg Todd was the commissioners’ unanimous pick Tuesday. Todd is deputy secretary of operations of the Maryland Health Department. He replaces Tim Dolehanty, who resigned in January after some “strong concerns” about his performance were expressed by commissioners — not enough, though, to block a $76,000 severance package.

Todd begins Sept. 1, according to a letter from Commission Chairman Bryan Crenshaw to county employees.

It says that Todd held several positions over 20 years in Queen Anne’s County in Maryland, including parks superintendent, chief operating officer and county administrator. As such, he managed the county’s daily operations and served as a liaison with the state legislative delegation, Crenshaw wrote.
