Green Peak launches ‘Two Joints’ weed brand in Lansing

Partnership with Last Prisoner project to support cannabis clemency

MONDAY, May 18 — Greater Lansing’s largest pot producer is launching a new marijuana brand, offering some inexpensive bud and advocating for criminal justice reform in the process.

Green Peak Innovations announced “Two Joints,” a value-oriented flower brand created in partnership with the Last Prisoner Project’s clemency initiative for pot prisoners. The goal is to sell some cheap bud and use the newfound revenue to support the project’s efforts to support inmates charged with nonviolent, weed-related convictions.

“Many nonviolent offenders remain behind bars for acts that are no longer illegal in our state,” said Jeff Radway, co-founder and CEO of Green Peak, in a recent press release. “We wanted to make the launch of Two Joints meaningful and felt the Last Prisoner Project was the perfect partner to bring awareness to an issue which impacts so many lives in our community.”

Initial Two Joints products — which include affordably priced pre-rolls and pre-ground weed for recreational use — will be sold exclusively at Green Peak’s Skymint locations across Michigan. The unique strains for the brand will also be grown and processed only at Green Peak facilities.

Skymint provisioning centers in Lansing will carry the full lineup beginning later this month.

Green Peak has been a vocal proponent of criminal justice reform for nonviolent cannabis offenses and is working with state lawmakers to pass a package of expungement-related bills. As part of the partnership, the company is now making monthly donations to the Last Prisoner Project, which also supports clemency campaigns for those inmates convicted of weed crimes.
