8630 Wintergreen St., Delta Township
One neighbor who lives near this 1,602 square-foot, three-bedroom home just east of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Delta Township wrote City Pulse this fall that she has been wondering for years what, if anything, was being done to address its ongoing decline. Built in 1967, the property is immediately recognizable due to its broken garage door, which is stuck in place a few feet above the ground, revealing wall-to-wall junk including yard tools, oil cans and a rusty trailer cart. Nearby, a broken light fixture dangles from its wiring amid chipping paint and a few fallen roof tiles. John Kuchar has been the house’s only owner since 1984. “We have complained about this property for years and get no answers,” the neighbor wrote, adding that the backyard also hosts a broken junk-car frame. “It’s been on our radar,” Delta Township Code Enforcement and Rental inspector Anton Woods told City Pulse on Monday. “We’re working on it, but that’s all I can tell you at this time.”
