City Pulse On the Air, March 8, 2020: Matt Grossman, The Grassroots and Inzane Michigan

Posted

This week we kick off a feature that we hope to bring you every show from now into November: A conversation with Matt Grossman, a professor of political science and director of the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University. We spoke to Matt about the Michigan Democratic primary election on Tuesday.

Reporter Cole Tunningley visited the Fledge on Lansing’s east side, for the opening of The Grassroots, a makeshift Bernie Sanders headquarters. Around eighty Sanders supporters showed up to hear speeches, commingle and discuss upcoming canvassing events.

Arts editor Skyler Ashley spoke with City Pulse contributor Rich Tupica and touring Musician John Olson about their podcast Rich and Johnny’s Inzane Michigan. On their show, Olson and Tupica do deep dives on rare Michigan music and explore the lives of obscure Michigan musicians. Ashley picks their brains about how exactly they dig up these bizarre musical stories.
