Another pot shop opens tomorrow in Lansing

MONDAY, Dec. 14 — Another pot shop is opening for medical and recreational sales in Lansing.

The Botanical Company will open its first provisioning center tomorrow in Lansing near the Capital Region International Airport, 3535 Capitol City Blvd. The store will be open daily from 10 a.m to 9:30 p.m.

Free pizza from Shove It Pizza Truck will be available on Friday to qualifying customers. Door prizes, vendor days and other customer giveaways will be announced later this week as the company celebrates its official opening in Lansing throughout December. 

“We are going to stand out by being one of the most transparent companies you will find,” said CEO Russ Chambers. “Customers entering our store will be able to watch a live stream inside our Franklin Fields growing facility so that they can see the care and quality that goes into each of our plants.”

The Botanical Co. and its growing operation, Franklin Fields, constitute a $10 million private investment in Lansing, officials said this week. Once fully operational, the two companies also expect to employ 50 full-time employees across 32,000 square feet of growing space and 3,500 square feet of retail space. The Botanical Co. also operates another retail provisioning center in Tawas.

Franklin Fields connects to the backside of The Botanical Co. in Lansing and boasts a custom water filtration and automated nutrient systems to ensure quality bud, company officials said. Several rare strains are expected to be available at the provisioning center early next year, including Member Berry, Critical Glue, Burkle and Lemon G,. 

Chambers and co-founder Mike Demmer reportedly gained experience in Michigan’s cannabis industry as caregivers in the medical market,  using that time to build their expertise in both cultivation and how medical cannabis can improve lives.
