FRIDAY, June 14 — City of Lansing officials are holding a press conference this afternoon after a video surfaced of a uniformed police officer striking what appears to be a young girl before escorting her into a police cruiser.
A video posted to Facebook on Friday shows a girl being escorted into the back of a Lansing Police Department SUV and later being struck several times by a city police officer. Mayor Andy Schor and Chief Michael Yankowski plan to release a statement on the matter at 4:15 p.m. at Lansing City Hall, a spokesman said.
