This is the summer meeting for the Michigan Nut Growers Association (MNGA). We will meet at Nash Nurseries for a potluck, short business meeting, fundraiser auction, and tour of Nash Nurseries. At Nash Nurseries, gardeners will find plants for an edible landscape, including fruit trees, nut trees, paw-paws (the Michigan banana), Michigan grown sweet chestnuts, and other interesting plants. All newcomers/guests are welcome to attend on July 13. You can learn more about MNGA at MichiganNut.orgnMNGA will have a fall meeting at a chestnut orchard in Hudsonville on October 4, 2014. MNGA is a non-profit organization whose members grow many different fruits and nuts for mostly personal use. We also teach grafting and share scions for propagation of desirable cultivars and outstanding fruits and nuts. Our spring meeting is the scion exchange. See us at the MSU Ag Expo in the CANR Tent July 22-24. We will have the second annual Nut Evaluation Day on January 10th in Eagle, MI. Dennis is secretary and can be reached at 517-626-2303.
