Area residents will have a chance to mingle with Olympian Judi Brown Clarke and WILX anchor Lauren Evans while taking steps toward improving their fitness during the Winter Warm-Up Kick-Off & Rally, 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 18 at the Lansing Mall.nnClarke, a Lansing City Council member who won a silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles in the 1984 Olympic Games, and Evans will discuss healthy living during the event, which will be held in the mall's Macy's wing.nnThe Winter Warm-Up Kick-Off & Rally also marks the start of the popular Blues Community Challenge and will feature fun children's activities, samples of healthy-eating options from area restaurants, a Walk in the Mall and displays and demonstrations from area organizations working to make healthy lifestyle resources available to the community. In addition, Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital will offer health assessments to attendees.nnThe Winter Warm-Up Kick-Off & Rally is co-sponsored by Community Partners in Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Capital Area Health Alliance.nnThe Winter Warm-Up is a free, nine-week program launched in 2003 by Community Partners in Health, a coalition of 23 Greater Lansing health organizations working to promote the health of our community.
