Tuesday, Dec. 13 — Stormfield Theatre holds a holiday fundraiser tonight at the home of Kirk Domer, chair of the Michigan State University Department of Theatre. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and features previews of the theater's next shows, "Romantic Fools," a collection of a dozen sketches about love and passion, and Kristine Thatcher's drama "Niedecker," based on the last years of the poet Lorine Niedecker.

Ingham Co. Treasurer Eric Schertzing has released the official list of properties in Ingham Co. on which taxes are still owed for 2009.

Friday, Dec. 16 — The Detroit Film Critics Society has announced its choices for the best in film in 2011. The society is made up of print, online, TV and radio critics from Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids and Lansing (including City Pulse’s James Sanford).

Thursday, Dec. 29 — The Michigan State University Theatre Department’s production of “The Beaux’ Stratagem” has been selected as one of 10 plays to be performed at next week’s Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival Region III competition at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. The comedy, adapted by Thornton Wilder and Ken Ludwig from George Farquhar’s 1707 Restoration play, was presented at MSU’s Auditorium Arena Theatre in November.

The road to Broad just got a little longer: Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon announced this morning that the planned April 21 dedication date for the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum has been scrapped. A fall date is being scheduled.

Monday, Jan. 23 — The announcement of the proposed Kewadin Lansing casino at the Lansing Center today featured a 90-second video of what the casino would look like from an aerial perspective.
