Monday, Jan. 7, 2012 — The Arts Council of Greater Lansing’s Individual Artist Grant Application awards artists with $1,000 grants to showcase their artwork. The Arts Council is offering a free informational meeting about the grant program this Thursday at 4p.m at 1208 Turner St. in Lansing.

The Old Town Poets — a loose collection of writers based in the north Lansing neighborhood — are hosting the first-ever Celebrating My Secret Lansing writing contest, which is open to anyone in the greater Lansing area.

Tuesday, Feb. 12 — The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau was honored recently for its marketing efforts to make the Capital City area a destination location for business and entertainment.
