However, your reporter erred in naming Susan Cancro, Director of Advent House Ministries as the owner. It is true that Advent House occupies a fair amount of space in the building in its ministry to the homeless through its weekend day shelter and educational programs throughout the week.

Yeah, it was clever that City Pulse sought the input of a medieval literature professor, the English Oxford Dictionary and the Bard himself for insight into the childish term “Powk” that is tagged throughout the Lansing area. But treating this manner in such a trivial ' even respectful ' light only further emboldens other pigs like Powk.

That’s why I recently voted against raising the national debt ceiling to $14.3 trillion, and voted to send a bill to the president’s desk that will require Congress to offset the costs of tax cuts or increases in entitlement spending with new revenue or savings elsewhere in the budget.

A new study by economists at Wilder Research showed that Michigan’s school readiness efforts saved the state $1.15 billion last year by lowering social costs (welfare, dropouts, prison, special education and so on). We’ll get similar savings each and every year ' provided we don’t cut these valuable efforts.
