A member of North Presbyterian Church, commenting on the church’s recent merger with Westminster Presbyterian Church, stated, “We knew our music was for older people.” Did she, by any chance, mean “TRADITIONAL” music? I am 47 years old and I prefer traditional church music to contemporary music.

We were living on a single income, and needed entertainment and educational resources for a stay-at-home-mother and a place for the family to get out and socialize. We found all of this in the Capital Area District Library’s Foster branch, which had a great collection of kids’ books and music, and a weekly story hour.

Not only should medical marijuana be made available to patients in need, but adult recreational use should be regulated. Drug policies modeled after alcohol prohibition have given rise to a youth-oriented black market. Illegal drug dealers don’t ID for age, but they do recruit minors immune to adult sentences.

But even though Pride is a season of celebration, it is important to remember that your safety comes first. That means the obvious ' don’t drink too much, don’t drink and drive, don’t use illegal drugs, do engage in safer sex ' but there others areas that may not be so obvious.

My one complaint is with your use of "Ask the Advice Goddess," by Amy Alkon. For the tone of the rest of the paper, this column seems bizarre and out of place. Alkon’s advice is often unnecessarily rude and condescending ' and not in a funny or edgy way.
