On Election Day, Republican candidates swept state-wide offices, they took over the Michigan Supreme Court, the Michigan House of Representatives, have a super-majority in the Michigan Senate, and Congressman Mark Schauer, an honest and honorable public servant, lost re-election to the far right-wing former Congressman, Tim Walberg.

Customers at Lou’s barbershop at 521 E Gr. River in old town along with other businesses are upset with Lansing’s snow clearing ordinance, with its $116 fine. The sidewalks are city and for public use. It smacks of outright mandatory enslavement, which our forefathers fought to end.

Theresa Abed and I are Eaton County Commissioners. She is a consensus builder. There is a divisiveness between the two parties and legislators need to listen to each other, resolve their issues, and come to consensus on issues. Abed has the experience and cooperative nature to get budgets done on time.

Since the Snyder piece was published, Melinn has continued with hit pieces against democrats. In today’s issue, he tries to paint Justice Robert Young Jr. as a victim. The City Pulse should be informing voters about Young’s abysmal record: constantly ruling for the powerful against the powerless, rule-of-law be damned.
