Governor- Elect Rick Synder’s decision to commute from Ann Arbor to Lansing is anything but sustainable. Sustainability is defined by social and environmental impacts of economic activity.

The Nov. 17 City Pulse article, “Hold back the ash”, left out some significant details about the Lansing Board of Water & Light’s land remediation project in North Lansing.

On Election Day, Republican candidates swept state-wide offices, they took over the Michigan Supreme Court, the Michigan House of Representatives, have a super-majority in the Michigan Senate, and Congressman Mark Schauer, an honest and honorable public servant, lost re-election to the far right-wing former Congressman, Tim Walberg.

An accurate statement is that during my 9-day hospitalization at Sparrow Hospital, the multi-disciplinary team working on my case conducted extensive testing and numerous medical procedures to diagnose the cause of my symptoms.

Customers at Lou’s barbershop at 521 E Gr. River in old town along with other businesses are upset with Lansing’s snow clearing ordinance, with its $116 fine. The sidewalks are city and for public use. It smacks of outright mandatory enslavement, which our forefathers fought to end.

Theresa Abed and I are Eaton County Commissioners. She is a consensus builder. There is a divisiveness between the two parties and legislators need to listen to each other, resolve their issues, and come to consensus on issues. Abed has the experience and cooperative nature to get budgets done on time.

Since the Snyder piece was published, Melinn has continued with hit pieces against democrats. In today’s issue, he tries to paint Justice Robert Young Jr. as a victim. The City Pulse should be informing voters about Young’s abysmal record: constantly ruling for the powerful against the powerless, rule-of-law be damned.

The list of medical marijuana-related businesses in last week’s issue inaccurately implied that two businesses at 2208 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing are jointly owned. Capital City Grower Supply and Capital City Caregivers are separate entities..

As a regular reader of City Pulse, who believes the paper provides a great service to the community with lots of information about entertainment, restaurants, and community events, I must say I am really disappointed by the free advertising space you are giving to a candidate in the upcoming election.

Many voters have received misleading mail attacking our candidate for state representative, Theresa Abed. Theresa campaigns by talking to voters about supporting small businesses that create jobs, reforming government and balancing budgets.
