"Watch List" comes to Riverwalk this weekend

The line between protection and paranoia has been a hotly debated topic in recent years, as the government tries to find possible terrorists and airline passengers endure increasingly long waits at security checkpoints. Eric Dawe addresses the issue in "The Watch List," opening Friday, March 5, at Riverwalk Theatre's Dart Studio Black Box space.

In Dawe's script, which won the Community Theatre Association of Michigan Playwriting Competition in 2005,  a female member of the Civil Freedoms Group of America, an ACLU-like organization is shocked when her name turns up on a FBI list of potential terror suspects. This puts the Civil Freedoms Group in a precarious place, as the other members debate the question of whether to fire her or challenge the government.

The drama will be performed at 8 p.m. March 5-6, 12-13 ad at 2 p.m. March 7 and 14. Tickets are $12. Call (517) 482-5700.
