- You've heard excerpts from the score in countless TV commercials, radio programs and movies. Now you can take in all of Carl Orff's hugely popular "Carmina Burana" when the combined choirs of Okemos High School present the choral piece at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9. The free concert will be held in the Okemos High School auditorium. OHS choral director Frank K. DeWald will conduct. OHS alums Victoria Walker (soprano) and Andrew McLemore (baritone) will return for the concert, which also features Michigan State University graduate student Joshua Baum (tenor) and a percussion ensemble made up of OHS students. If you miss it in Okemos, you can catch approximately half the choir performing the work at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 14. The New York City concert will be directed by San Francisco Symphony Chorus conductor emeritus Vance George.
