Fight the chill with chili

In Section: A&E blog Posted By: JamesSanford
- Nothing dispels the chill of January like warm food. Or a good old-fashioned barn dance. Woldumar Nature Center gives you both this Saturday at the annual "Chili" Winter Evening. The event features sleigh rides from 4 to 8 p.m. and a barn dance from 8 to 10 p.m. General admission is $15; $12 for students, seniors, and Woldumar members and $10 for children 12 and under. Ticket-buyers get one horse-drawn sleigh ride, a dinner including chili, hot drinks, and dessert in the log cabin, treats by the bonfire, a Moon Log Cabin tour and the Barn Dance. There will also be a silent auction fundraiser with items such as paintings, nature photographs, decorative plates and more. Because this is an outdoor event, all guests are asked to dress appropriately for the weather. In case of inclement weather, the "Chili" Winter Evening will be held January 30. Call (517) 322-0030 to check for possible postponement. For more information, visit www.woldumar.org.
