Lansing Fall Fest keeps the beer flowing

by ALLAN I. ROSS

Thursday, Oct. 3 — It’s technically not in Lansing, but the organizers behind the debut Lansing Fall Fest event are pretty sure you won’t notice — or care, once the beer starts flowing. Lansing Fall Fest will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, above the Red Salamander Homebewing and Winemaking Supplies shop, 902 E. Saginaw Hwy. in Grand Ledge.

The one-day indoor beer, cider and mead festival was brewed up by the brains behind Lansing Beer Fest and the owner of the REO Town Pub. It will feature more than 30 Michigan craft beers, ciders and meads from 16 manufacturers throughout the state. Organizer Paul Starr, also founder of beer news website I’m a Beer Hound, said there are two key goals behind Fall Fest: Raise awareness of the Michigan craft beer, cider and mead industry and raise money for Child and Family Charities.

Lansing Fall Fest was established by Starr and REO Town Pub owner Roxanne Landes. It will also feature live acoustic music performed by Joe Wright, who blends country and classic rock.
