Please note: Because of the New Years holiday last weekend, some galleries are holding receptions this Sunday and others have scheduled receptions for Jan. 16.

 


New Exhibits


East Lansing Public Art Gallery “The Festive Lens: Photos from the 2010 Great Lakes Folk Festival.” Presented by the East Lansing Arts Commission. Open Noon-8 p.m. Jan. 9. Kresge Art Museum Kresge education staff will lead a tour of "The Best of Friends: The Friends of Kresge Art Museum." Over 70 works of art will be on display, purchased by the Friends of Kresge during the past 35 years. Tour: 1 p.m. Jan. 16. Lansing Art Gallery “In Search of Good Coprolite.” Featuring Mark Chatterley’s nationally and internationally recognized figurative sculptures. Opens Jan. 11. Reception: 7-9 p.m. Jan. 14. MSU Museum “A World of Mothers and Daughters.” The first exhibit of photographer Ron Carver’s work documents, through generations of women and across nations, the special bond between mother and daugher. North Foyer Gallery at East Lansing Public Library “My World and Yours.” Watercolor exhibit by Jackie Borszich portraying the beauty of nature, the aging of old buildings and the intricacies and textures of objects. Mackerel Sky “Nature’s Enchantments.” Exhibit of appliqu'd quilts by DeWitt artist Peggy Szasz. Designs feature Michigan landscapes, as well as Christmas and nature themes.
