That would be sad news for music lovers under any circumstances, but it could have a local impact here as well: The DSO is scheduled to perform with renowned violinist Sarah Chang Thursday night at the Wharton Center.
According to the DSO website (www.detroitsymphony.com), "all concerts remain scheduled as planned." But ticketholders for the Chang/DSO concert might want to check the DSO's concert hotline (313-576-5123) or the Wharton Center box office for updates.
Chang and the DSO are scheduled to perform Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto and the “Symphonie Fantastique” by Hector Berlioz.
City Pulse staff writer Lawrence Cosentino recently interviewed the 29-year-old Chang for a preview piece in which she speaks about her career and her long professional relationship with DSO conductor Leonard Slatkin.
