Virg Bernero on Fox News

by City Pulse Staff

Our mayor nearly blows his top jousting with Neil Cavuto over a bailout for the auto industry. See if you can count the number of times Virg says "Neil."

Our favorite line?

"This free trade may be free, but it's not fair."

Great Mayor you have there. Virg for Pres in 2016 (or 2012, depending on how Obama does.)
Please, Virg may be a hero in Detroit, but the rest of Americans see him as no better than the Walstreet goons he hates on. How many good business people in Georgia have to suffer because capital is being directed by the government to unprofitable companies in Detroit and Lansing? Virg totally got owned by Peter Schiff.

I first heard Virg earlier this week on Bill Press, Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz. Can we please get this guy to run for Governor? I told my 92 year old mother about him and she asked me to send her an article or something where she could see what I was talking about. I did the search and came up with this link and the Fox Cavuto interview, after hearing him on the 3 Air American programs, this just sucks, although he did come on strong, I can't get anywhere near Fox. Please get your mayor to run for Governor, I am in Redford, just outside of Detroit

Virg is spot on that our companies are competing against countries in most of the world. When will Washinton and NewYork wallstreeters get a clue?

Going to have to agree with Dave here. Virg did a relatively good job of keeping his cool and sounding like the adult in this exchange. As far as the City Pulse piece goes, I think it did a very good job of explaining both the frustrations people have with the Big 3 while acknowledging that it's still in our best interests to keep them afloat. The last thing we need is the Flintification of the entire state.

I would say Neil was shouting at Vrig in a almost uncontrolled tirade. Neil was not even civil. I give Vrig a lot credit for keeping his cool. Once again, Neil is spouting the same old conventional wisdom that the city pulse staff seems convinced of and which is just wrong. This is the same kind of ignorance that elected George Bush -- twice. Think about it.
