Turner-Dodge House: Built in 1858, the restored brick Classical Revival home was once owned by prominent, early Lansing pioneers James and Marion Turner and later by Abby Turner and Frank Dodge. Cast Aways for Kids. Working to collect and restore used fishing rods and reels to give them to schools, youth groups and other community groups. Dr. Bill Bass, founder of the infamous “Body Farm,” and author of “Death’s Acre,” his book detailing his career in forensic anthropology and the events that led to the founding of the Body Farm, will be present in voice, if not in body, at the next meeting of the “Get a Clue Mystery Reading Group” at Schuler Books and Music in the Meridian Mall in Okemos. 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, Bass will participate in a teleconference to discuss the founding of his forensic lab — the only one in the world dedicated to the study of human decomposition – as well as the forensic techniques popularized in modern mystery movies and television series like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

2004 Walk for Wishes. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan is excited to announce this wonderful event. This non-competitive 5K event is complete with food, entertainment and special appearances by Sparty and Coach Newton of the Men’s Spartan Hockey Team.
