Lansing’s JazzFest — a two-day music festival that brings over 20 local, regional and national jazz groups to an audience of 20,000 people from across Michigan – enters its ninth year with this weekend’s festival, Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2. Ethnic food, beer, wine and beverages, art, clothing and crafts are available from vendors who line the sidewalks, and art galleries open their doors during festival hours. There’s no admission to get into JazzFest, but donations are gladly accepted.

There’s also a JazzBrunch at 11 a.m. in the beer tent, with music by Lisa Smith and the Mike Skory Trio. Tickets are $25 a person. Call 371-4600 for tickets.

Beer tent admission is $5. Drink tickets are $1 each. It takes three tickets to get a glass of beer; four tickets for a glass of wine; or three for a Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
Beer tent hours: It opens at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. Closes at midnight both nights.
JazzFest staff will check IDs. You must be 21 to enter.
