State Council Entering a Political No Man’s Land

On most weekday mornings, Melissa Soule of Haslett walks out the door of her Haslett home with her almost-4-year-old daughter, Chloe, at about 8:48 a.m.. The challenge ahead: getting Chloe to her downtown Lansing preschool by 9 a.m. and Melissa to her workplace just afterwards. That gives Mom about 12 minutes to make the suburban-to-central city commute.
