Being
gay
and proud
is entire life
Bob
Egan has been a leader of the gay community in Lansing since the early
1990s when he and others began working toward a gay rights ordinance.

referendum in 1996. Egan, 47, will leave Lansing soon to begin his own
business in Palm Springs, Calif. Egans hallmark has been his willingness
to be openly gay as his way of fighting homophobia and also as a way
of putting behind him the 27 years he spent in the closet.
