On
Saturday, May 31, the Community Relations Coalition (CRC) will
host its inaugural fund raising event, A Taste of East Lansing.
The evening will begin with a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30
p.m. at the Wild Goose Inn at 512 Albert Ave. For a suggested
donation of $25, attendees will dine on hors doeuvres provided
by a number of East Lansing restaurants.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Roy Saper welcomes CRC supporters to
Saper Galleries to preview the latest exhibit, Laurent Schkolnyk:
Still Lifes by the Master of Mezzotint. The artist will
also be in attendance. Saper will donate 10 percent of the proceeds
from art work sold during the event to the CRC. Saper Galleries
is located at 433 Albert Ave. in East Lansing.

Be a Tourist in Your Own Town. City-wide celebration showcasing local
museums, galleries, theaters and attractions. Participants purchase
a passport for $1 to gain admission to a number of attractions (which
will sell the passports) and activities. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For additional

Bird Feeder Cleaning. Steam clean your bird feeders without getting
your hands wet. Take empty wood, plastic and metal feeders to Wild Birds
Unlimited to remove dirty residue that may house bacteria harmful to

Old Quilts, New Inspirations Workshop. Learn the tips and
tricks of creating a reproduction quilt. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Auditorium,

Sculpture in the Streets. This 20-piece exhibition by J. Seward Johnson
depicts people from every walk of life in ordinary situations. Each
piece is highly textured, detailed and sculpted in colored bronze. J.
Seward Johnson is a renowned artist whose bronze sculptures have appeared
in such prominent places as the World Trade Center and Rockefeller Center.
Brochures showing all the sculptures with a map of their locations are
available at the Center for the Arts, 425 S. Grand Ave. On display May

Dance
Baila Conmigo Cuban Popular Dance Workshop. Latin dance
lovers will have the opportunity to go through 10 two-hour workshops
(one every week) where beginners will learn how to understand the different
rhythms, basic steps and figures, as well as a history of each dance.
$50 for 10 workshops. Students get $2 off with I.D. Space is limited.
No age requirements or previous knowledge needed. Dance partners are
